Homeopathic treatment in Kanpur
Other conditions
Homeopathic treatment in Kanpur for the complaints that do not fit a single heading — migraine and recurring headaches, long-standing tiredness, repeated illness in children, mouth and ear trouble, and much else the clinic sees every week.
My problem is not on the list. Can the clinic still help?
Almost certainly, yes. The Homeopathy clinic in Kanpur is a general practice, not a single-condition specialism, and the seven headings on the home page are simply the complaints that come through the door most often. A great deal of what the doctor sees in twenty-five years of practice does not belong under any of them. This page is for those complaints, and they are not treated as second-class: the same unhurried first consultation, the same fee, the same doctor.
Conditions the clinic sees in this area
- Migraine and recurring or long-standing headaches
- Tiredness and low energy that rest does not fix, where tests have come back normal
- Children who fall ill again and again — repeated colds, throat trouble, poor appetite, slow recovery
- Weakness and slow recovery after a viral fever such as dengue or chikungunya
- Mouth and gums — bad breath, bleeding gums, mouth ulcers
- Ear complaints — earache, blocked ear, ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
- Eye strain and tired, watering eyes
- Varicose veins, and heaviness or swelling in the legs
- Burning feet, tingling and numbness
- Complaints that arrive with the season — summer heat, monsoon stomach trouble, winter aches
- Feeling generally run-down, low immunity, catching everything going around
This list is not a boundary. If your complaint is not on it, call and ask — that is a shorter conversation than searching, and it costs nothing.
What this page does not cover
Some conditions need a doctor who can examine you, order tests and admit you if necessary, and homeopathy is not the right first stop for them. Please see a physician or go to a hospital first if you have any of the following, and the clinic will say the same thing if you ask:
- Chest pain, sudden breathlessness, or a suspected heart problem
- Sudden weakness on one side, difficulty speaking, or a first-ever fit or blackout
- A severe headache that came on suddenly and unlike any before it, or a headache with fever, neck stiffness, vomiting or changed vision
- High fever that is not settling, or fever with a rash, severe body pain or bleeding
- Any new lump, unexplained weight loss, or bleeding that has no obvious cause
The clinic also does not ask anyone to stop treatment they are already on for blood pressure, the heart, the thyroid, diabetes, epilepsy or any long-term condition. Those stay with the doctor who prescribed them.
What the first consultation involves
The first appointment is unhurried, and for a complaint that has not fitted anywhere else it is usually the most useful part of the treatment. The doctor asks when it started, what makes it better or worse, how it changes through the day and the season, and about sleep, appetite, energy and temperament. Homeopathic prescribing is matched to that whole picture rather than to a diagnosis, which is exactly why a complaint without a tidy label is not a problem here. Bring any reports you already have, and a list of the medicines you currently take.
Keeping your other treatment going
If you are already taking medicine for the thyroid, blood pressure, sugar, epilepsy, the heart or anything else long-term, keep taking it. Homeopathic medicines are given in very small doses and are used alongside conventional treatment. Any reduction is decided later, with the doctor who prescribed it, once things are steadier — never stopped suddenly on your own, and never on the strength of anything you read on a website.
Which clinic and which days
These complaints are seen at the Swaroop Nagar and Gumti No. 5 (Kaushalpuri) clinics, and — for campus residents only — at the IIT Kanpur Health Centre. The full weekly timetable, with each clinic’s hours and whether it is open right now, is shown further down this page. Timings change occasionally, so call before travelling.
Common questions
My complaint is unusual. Is it worth coming at all?
Yes. A general homeopathic practice spends much of its week on complaints that did not fit anywhere else, and the method — matching the medicine to the whole person rather than to the label — does not need a tidy diagnosis to work with. If the doctor thinks homeopathy is not the right answer for you, he will say so at the first visit rather than start you on a course.
Can homeopathy help with migraine and recurring headaches?
Migraine and long-standing headache are among the most common reasons patients come to this clinic, and there is a good deal written about them below. Treatment looks at the pattern — what sets an attack off, the time of day, the season, sleep and stress — rather than only at relieving the pain when it arrives. Improvement is gradual. A headache that is sudden, severe and unlike any before it, or one with fever, neck stiffness or changed vision, is not something to bring here first: that needs a doctor the same day.
I am tired all the time and my tests are normal. Is that treatable?
It is one of the commonest complaints here, and a normal blood report does not mean nothing is wrong. The doctor will go through sleep, appetite, digestion, mood and the pattern of the tiredness through the day, and will also check whether something simple and correctable — low B12, low iron, low thyroid — has been missed, in which case you will be sent for the test rather than prescribed for. Where fatigue has been present for months or years, treatment is measured in weeks to months, not days.
My child falls ill again and again. Can something be done?
Children who catch every cold going around, or whose throat trouble returns each month, are seen regularly at the clinic. Treatment is aimed at the pattern of repeated illness rather than at each episode. Homeopathic medicines are sweet, taken easily by children, and given in very small doses. Vaccinations, and any medicine a paediatrician has prescribed, continue as normal — homeopathic treatment is not a replacement for either.
I am on thyroid or blood pressure medicine. Can I still come?
Yes, and you should keep taking it. Tell the doctor everything you are on at the first visit. Homeopathic medicines are taken in very small doses alongside conventional treatment. Any change to a long-term medicine is a decision for the doctor who prescribed it, made on the strength of your reports, not something to do on your own.
How soon might I notice a difference?
It depends on how long the complaint has been present. Something recent can settle within days; a pattern of many years usually eases over weeks to a few months. The doctor will tell you at the first visit what is realistic in your case, and will tell you if he thinks homeopathy is not the right treatment for it.
Do I need an appointment before coming in?
An appointment is best. Booking through Practo — the button at the top of this page — secures a time, and you can also call or send a WhatsApp message to arrange one. Clinic hours for all three locations are listed further down this page.
